Ok so a little background, when I first bought my full GTI Turbo Back Exhaust System from Milltek some 12 months ago it wasnt until I got it fitted that I realised it came with bolt on tips. Now to me they looked a little Halfords style and considering the expense and engineering that went into this system I wasnt overly happy but it was what I ordered so thought I would have to live with it.
Anyway, at GTI Inters last years I was introduced to Phil Millington, who is the MD of Milltek Sport, and I had a conversation with him about my disappointment with the bolt on tips on my system. He said that this is because this particular style back box is utilised on a number of different models throughout the VAG range hence the need for some adjustability with tip lengths.
I asked him if it would be possible for them to re-work my back box and weld the pipes from the Edition 30 back box on.
He said that this would be no problem at all and he gave me his card and asked me to call him to arrange getting booked in for the work to be carried out.
I didnt contact him due to various reasons , the main one being I was tight for money last year due to the credit crunch. Anyway I visited the Autosport Show earlier this year and again bumped into Phil and asked again to my embarrassment if the offer was still open and of course it was.
So yesterday I rang Phil and asked him about getting my car booked in for the new pipes and he swiftly arranged for me to come in today.
I got up to Milltek at 10am this morning where the guys were waiting for me and immediately they set about sorting me out. To my amazement Phil had arranged to just change the complete back box for a brand new Edition 30 item.
I would just like to thank Phil and all of the guys at Milltek for sorting out my issue I cannot thank them enough for their support and great customer service. They did not have to do this for me but it just goes to show how they do care about all of their customers experiences.
I would like to add that Robin played no part in getting Milltek to do this swap for me this was genuine customer care at its best.
