they either didnt top it up or you have a fault somewhere. Be aware though that 2.0TFSI do seem to like a bit of oil every now and again, but your case is extreme

I bought the gti apparently having just had its 2nd service. I was told that during the service it got new disks and pads. I was also told that the car had fvwsh. I got the car with 1 key a replacement service book with history of the service they just did that has brake fluid writen above it. 1000miles later (the time it would have been due its 2nd service had it not already just had one) it started telling me service now. Then a further 2500miles my car is void of all oil. I might be a idiot here and not understand this car fully but I have never driven anything that can empty itsself that quickly...in my mind its either a leek caused by not putting like sump or filter bk on correcly or my service never happened. And coz I or vw have no record of the 1st service I don't even know if its ever been changed!

Its about 1 litre of oil from full mark on the dipstick to the bottom.Vw will tell you that theres nothing wrong if theres no leaks or emmisions are ok. These boys that say theres dont burn a single drop of oil, dont drive the cars hard enough . 2+ litres between service schedules isnt unheard of.Unless its pushing blue smoke out the back, down on bhp, oil in the engine cooling expansion tank, then i wouldnt worry. At least its keeping semi fresh oil in between services

No, but I would have also checked it in 3500 miles myself. :innocent:

PS. Its the round orange thing that sits on the front of the engine.

How much oil does your car typically consume between long life services?

How much oil does your car typically consume between long life services?

When I bought my car the first owner had it on Longlife servicing (every 2yrs) and I got it changed over to the Time and distance service ( I think that is what it is called :ashamed: basically every year for me)

Since my second service last March I have topped up just over a litre of Castrol edge. I am on my second 1L bottle now, and that will def last till the next service in March 2011.

I would say I use approx 1.5L every year, so I guess on Longlife (2yrs), I would expect to top 3L between services  :ashamed:

I can't say for sure though mate.

I just try to remember to check the oil and tyre pressures every 1-2 months. :happy2:
