intermittent unlock problem
« on: November 28, 2018, 03:30:20 pm »
my mk5 GTI occasionally flashes the indicators when unlocking but does not unlock the doors, do a lock and unlock and it works, or using the key gets you in.

Any ideas what this could be the key fob battery (but the lights flash so the car gets a signal) or something else ?

(I tried searching but nothing was returned)

My passenger door used to do this a couple of years back. Changed the coding so that passenger unlocks with one click, not 2 and slowly the issue disappeared. I put it down to the passenger door not getting any use with the previous owner.

In any case, when this was happening I did get some codes stored, so may be worth a scan with VCDS or similar.
