« on: September 26, 2018, 06:27:31 pm »
Hi all im thinking of getting my mk5 on the market due to little man getting taller and car getting abit on the small side as im 6ft4 and my son is growing fast its getting tight for us to go out as a family im just wondering how much you would say its worth as i keep getting told the market on mk5s is getting less money

Its a mk5 gti AXX 5 door DSG standard apart from induction kit exhaust end and pcv valve all standard parts are here and can be put back on if its worth more standard? Its on 95k miles and had cam chain cam belt and water pump flywheel dsg service all dine recently and always been serviced regulary

What sprt of price am i looking?

Cheers Kris

Its very much a buyers market at the minute, as there are plenty of good gti's around and for sale, while some dreamers are still asking £6k, realistically you can expect between £3500-£4500, although there are some pretty decent high mileage gtis around for well under £3k.
As for the mods, it may not devalue the car as such, but it will make it less appealing to the majority of buyers, I would return to standard and sell the bits on here!

Thanks Uncleben

Thats the sort of price i was looking at really between 3500-4 so on the rite track :)

And a fair point of putting her back to standard and sell parts seprut on here or evilbay

Just a great shame to sell her just been out polishing and waxing her debaiting if i want to see her go but family growing and need the room

What you all think of possibly a VXR vectra/insignia?

Any other good spec big cars you all reckon?

Thanks again Uncleben top man on the advice

Cheers Kris

Insignia vxr is quite exciting when you push the sport button and the dash changes to red. Front seats are good and there is tons of space. it does feel fast in a straight line.

I used to have an impreza sti which was fine for family duties if a little droney on the motorway. massive boot and isofix for kids car seats. interior quality feels a bit budget but going out for blast in it on your own is super fun. Mine was modified so was quick and it handled well.

look at imported legacy estates as they usual come with high quality aftermarket parts fitted. or, spec b legacy, 300bhp in a proper sleeper estate.
