Is it definitely the bulb and not a broken wire?

well the bulb light is not on my dash or does this not show on the dash when it goes out?

Any way to check the wire without cracking it?

If it's the high level brake light in the spoiler you mean no it won't show up on your dash.

Open your tailgate and check where the loom runs from the car to the tailgate on the nearside (passenger side). Pull back the black protective rubber and see if you have a break in one of the wires. Common problem.

I found it much trickier than the video makes it look though. if it doesnt snap out be careful not to make a mess of the spoiler
