Intermittent throttle pedal issue
« on: February 23, 2019, 08:56:53 pm »
I changed the front and rear calipers the other day, bled the brakes and the clutch but since doing them I've had an issue with the pedal.

It may just be coincidence but never happened before.

It will come back after a few seconds and luckily hasn't done it at a junction yet.

Nothing from the pedal at all, not just a loss of power.

Any ideas?

Are you still having this issue? I can’t think what could of gone wrong when bleeding brakes and clutch that could effect the throttle. Have you got vcds to see if it’s the pedal or throttle body Misbehaving? Maybe you caught a wire when getting to the clutch bleed nipple or sumin.

Yep, VCDS probably needed here.  If there are communication issues between the pedal and throttle body, the ECU would definitely flag it.

It hasn't happened recently but haven't been doing higher speed driving because of traffic the last couple of days. Apparently pedal issues are common these. I don't have vcds but if the provides carry in I'll have to get it scanned. Thanks.

Pedal issues aren't common at all.   Like I say, if the pedal was faulty, you would know about it.  Engine light would come on and limp mode would slam down like an anvil.  If the ECU loses comms with the pedal, 7% throttle is all you get.

Without an ECU scan or logging, we may as well just pin the random solution onto the random cause.
