What’s the brake spring for?

On the front calipers , what does the spring clip actually do?
Just been doing my pads but could not get it to go back in?

It's called a Caliper retaining clip, and I think it keeps the caliper in place.

Edition 30 #1994 now sold. *cries*

Ah I always thought it was a anti rattle pad retainer or something but when looking it doesn’t touch the pads

Ah I always thought it was a anti rattle pad retainer or something but when looking it doesn’t touch the pads
I think it’s there to support the outside of the caliper, you will need to flex it a bit to get it back on, but it’s there for a reason so try to get it back on
