Anti lift kit question
« on: March 04, 2019, 09:47:12 am »
Hi all I've got  Super Pro Anti Lift kit to go one my car. I'm now hearing about bolts snapping on removal, what's best way to get the bolts off without snapping and if they do snap how can you get the snapped bolt out?

Thanks in advance.

Just for info before you get stuck in, the superpro anti-lift console left my castor unchanged at the same 8 degrees as the stock one.

Get new bolts before starting the job.  Use heat to remove the old ones if stuck.

So you're hearing they snap? Where from?  You never know, your experience may be different, so worry about crossing that bridge when you get to it.

If the bolt head shears off, it'll be subrame(s) down to remove the remainder of the bolt.  If you're lucky there will be a stub to grip onto.  If snapped off flush.....have fun with the drills and taps.

Yeah few people have mentioned they snapped and a mates bolts snapped on his Gti. Thanks for the advice, I've got a new set of bolts from VW so hopefully all should be ok and done by the weekend.
