'57 DSG GTI alas now gone, but not forgotten....
Now motorway cruising in a 61 Mondeo Titanium X Sport 2.2 TDCi. 500+ miles to a tankful and bucketloads of torque :O Ok, it's not a GTI but it's fun... and that's what counts ;)

If you have a white display then get a 729C and you can make it say VW instead of Skoda when you pair it

Since I only have midline and I'm not bothered about seeing on the MFD anyway (I have an RCD510 so should get everything on the screen), I am going to try out a Skoda unit today.

I just need to re-iterate how helpful Darren (mortygttdi) is. He's been round 3 times, each for over an hour trying to get this all sorted for me. I'm glad he's not charging VW labour rates

Woohoo, I now have a phone kit that pairs!

Only problem now is that I can't control it  :sad1:
Steering wheel buttons do nothing and pressing 'phone' on the head unit just mutes the stereo.... More coding needed me thinks. I'm going to have to get you a crate of beer or something Darren, any preferences??

Just been done now. It's the 729E version and it is coded up and works correctly with the head unit now.

The only thing we could not get working was the steering wheel buttons. I assume it's because it's he VW wheel and Skoda bluetooth and they are not completely compatible. I can live with this, but if you've got any idea if there's any way of getting the steering wheel buttons working, that would be great! It's the standard mk5 multi function wheel with star (mute) and phone button.

The buttons do work for every thing else, just the star button on scotts(Golfmans) activates the voice dialing and Ive coded the steering wheel up for V/D but just doesn't do any thing

When the VW kit was in the steering wheel would activate the voice dialing has it comes back and says no phone attached or something,  but on the skoda kit it just doesn't do any thing...?

The coding ive put in the skoda module is 0010422 if any one has some suggestions?

Yes Darren there is a different coding, it's on my Laptop at home so I'll need to see if the Mrs can send it to me.

Tried 0000422 but it turned the telephone off on the radio, it just muted when the phone button was pressed?
