Mk7 R intercooler for mk5 gti

Hi all,
Will the mk7 golf R intercooler fit the mk5 GTI (bwa) ?

I’m aware the mk6 R and S3 8P intercooler fits and is a good upgrade, but will the mk7 R fit as perfect as those? If so I’ll aim for one of those.

Thanks colesey, I had the idea a mk7 wouldn’t fit after only reading about mk6 and S3 but wanted to double check as someone selling one said it would and that he’s done it to loads! I wasn’t buying into sellers talk lol

There's a difference between making it fit and fitting it as the factory intended     I suspect this seller is referring to the former method.

The outlet lengths and angles certainly look the same as S3/6R, but the mounting points are different.

Given the already impressively low IATs I've seen with my 6R intercooler, I doubt there will be much of gain over that with a standard MQB intercooler tbh.

thanks Pudding, I will stick with aiming for the MK6 R / S3 intercooler :) only raised the question as someone on facebook was selling a 3000 mile one for 50 notes! if it had fit snug (I aint making crap bodged or forced in there) I would of had it! but I want a nice perfect fit.. no messing about like.

Cheap because no one wants them 

They don't fit the MK5/6 platform and MK7 people upgrade to Wagner, Airtec or A.N.Other intercooler manufacturer.
