Eibach Pro Spring Kit - Damper issue?
« on: February 17, 2010, 07:44:18 pm »
I've read through all the old threads on these springs and I'm pretty much certain that I'm going to buy them, they seem the right next mod for me,

A few people raised the issue of shortened life to the dampers due to bottoming out or any other causes (I'll be the first to admit I'm not that well up on suspension mods)

Has anybody experienced this? What happened to the damper, was it costly to repair if it failed? any information would be gratefully received?

Cheers

Tom

if they do eventually go then there is a good excuse for coilovers  :innocent:

It's always best to get matched springs and shocks but with the Eibach springs being quite a small drop you should be fine.

I had Eibach pro street coilovers and in the 18months that I had them I went through 2 sets of dampers. Personally I wouldn't ever touch Eibachs again after an experience like that.

The dampers were replaced free of charge due to the 2 year warranty, but as they lasted just over a year they were only supplied free and I had to fit them at my expense. :fighting:

Maybe I'm particularly hard on suspension with the way I drive (or the crap roads where I live) but 2 pairs in under 2 years is frankly sh!te!!

So you had coilovers and they failed? What about just the pro springs on stock dampers?

No, I have no experience of the pro-springs with stock dampers. I thought you were meaning having Eibach dampers too! :ashamed:
