Winter addition to the car.

I recently left the car for 2 weeks in the garage, and it trickle fed the battery, In fact whilst away in afghanistan, i used the optimate for 3 months, with crocodile clips, and I have now added a connector as shown above , that runs from the battery and is accesible near the expansion tank.

works really well.

Trickle chargers are always good, many high-end cars (Porsche, Ferrari, etc) realise their cars may not be driven on a daily basis so they often include a trickle charger. I've got a friend who's got the same one you do for his MX-5.
If your car is left outside VW offer a solar panel charger, put it on your dash and plug it in to the lighter socket, it'll keep the battery topped up (even on a cloudy grey day there's some light).
Incidentally are you with the forces mate?

got one on the bike at mo, with the jack lead fitted, good thing about these is they do a batt check, trickle, revive, its perm on 6mths of the year (whilst bike sorn)
brill bit of kit.

sounds good, just need to get new rec/reg unit, these old Ducati's have shocking electrics :grin:

An older 900 Ducati monster pal,  funnily enough it has uprated brakes, exhaust and suspension, sounds familier doesn't it :laugh:



Its a tad loud though sets car alarms off :laugh:
