Stock GTI ride height

3 weeks into owning a 2006 Gti and one of my front springs snapped. I immediately saw an opportunity to replace all 4 springs and lower it slightly but after taking advice from my mechanic,(upsetting geometry etc), I decided to just replace both front springs with stock parts. To me it looks high at the front and I’m wishing I’d gone lower but I’m actually questioning if standard golf springs may have been fitted rather than the gti ones. I’ve measured from the centre of my 18 Monza to the underside of the arch and it’s 360mm. Can anyone confirm if this is standard for the GTI spring as I’ve struggled to find a definitive answer.

670mm from the ground to the arch is the standard height, if I recall.

It seems to be a common thing that the wheel arch gaps look ridiculous when fitting new OEM springs.   Either VW changed them over the years, or the originals just sagged and snapped.....or something.   I remember replacing springs on my Corrado years ago and the back was so high, you could put a coke can on the tyre and still be an inch clear of the arch.  VW double checked the part numbers and they were right.  Weird.
