S3 Forge Twintake Review

A couple of updated pics now with the engine cover in place.





Very pleased with the look.  Wondering if I should carbon wrap the white bits on the engine cover?  Am undecided at the moment.  Any photoshop wizards able to do it for me so I can see what it looks like?

....But isn't that lack of adhesion due to engine bay heat?

Back on topic: @KRL, I don't think that carbon vinyl will look good next to the real carbon of the Twintake cannisters. Also, not a good idea in the hot environment of the engine bay.

Very Nice robin  . It will be fine on smooth surface mounting, but the engine cover (same as Rear lower bumper on a normal GTi, that stuff wont adhear to it.

....Ah, it's the dimpley 'orange peel'-like texture it won't adhere to.. Got it  

I still think that carbon vinyl won't last very long in the engine bay..  Or will cook itself on forever until Hell freezes over!

Heat was ok on mine, i had it wrapped around the exhaust tunnel at the rear with no issues for a year as youve seen.

I stand corrected. A possible heat issue would have been my concern, and also how it behaves long term.

Really wish I hadn't read this now after just receiving my dbilas..  Pretty awesome gains there Kristian. Just hope the dbilas gets half those gains..

In all seriousness I was pretty limited with regards intakes. I use the car for work and sometimes have customers in the car and didn't want Darth Vader having conversations with them every time I changed gear..  I was all set for a Twintake with it being a CAI, only to later be told that it is quite loud.. 
Problem is I love the noise too, just not ideal ALL the time..

You could always try changing the filter on the Dbilas to an universal filter one like PDT did to get the best of both worlds.
