Puncture help

Hi, can a puncture be found if i take just tyre to a tyre place?

As said, pretty straight forward if away from the edges, found a great big nail in the centre of the tread on my rear wheel last week. Took it to the local tyre place, 30 mins and £25 quid later was all fixed.

At the time i could get tyres on the drive to come to me quicker than I could get the puncture fixed. Paid £15 to get it sorted eventually.
