Bi xenon bulb replacement
« on: February 19, 2010, 08:01:20 pm »
 :sad1:

One of the bulbs has gone in my xenon headlight (main beam)

Is it better to replace both at the same time, also are they H7 G2S fitment and 5000k colour?

Seen a few on ebay for about £20 a pair, anyone know what price to expect more local?

Cheers, Sam  :happy2:

Do these bulbs just pull out or do you have to turn them first(clockwise/anti-clockwise) then pull out.
anything you need to make sure you don't touch?

cheers

The first thing you will see when you remove the plastic cover is the igniter, twist this to remove it, and undo the wiring plug.  Then you will see the black round bulb holder, twist this anti clockwise and remove it.  The bulb should then be loose in the headlight.

Igniter - turn anticlockwise to remove

Can't find a pic of the bulb holder, but you will see what i mean.

actually you don't need to remove the wiring, the starter has a safetydevice that when you twist the starter pushes the plug of the starter so you can't touch the contactpatches whilst it having 30000V on it, very clever, and that was the arm that broke on my starter when refitting it  :sad1:

Thanks all, just got around to ordering 2x 4300k d2s bulbs of ebay for £20 delivered  :happy2: 12 month warranty too!

Wish me luck fitting them, strangely nervous about breaking something!

Cheers, Sam
