DIY - Have a look at VrStu's excellent guide - http://www.octavia-vrs.com/technical/bluetooth.html

I brought my current VW OEM kit from ebay and my last one from VrStu :happy2:

Just had a read of the write up for fitting the Bluetooth and it looks like a big job for me as I have not taken the inside of my car apart like that. Think I may need to get help fitting it. Had alook on eBay does £300 sound about right for the Oem kit? Can you get voice control on this also?

Voice control is a function of both the RNS510 and the Bluetooth.  The Bluetooth has Voice as standard but you need a MFSW to activate it however if you upgrade the RNS510 firmware to the latest then that includes Voice Control and then both devices can be controlled from a MFSW or a button on the RNS510.

For RNS510 Voice Control the Bluetooth Microphone must be routed via the RNS510.  The Bluetooth wiring looms I have made now include the wiring for Voice via the RNS510 as standard.

Fitting on the Golf is slightly easier than the Octavia as the trim comes apart more conveniently and there is more space behind the headunit. Failing that you could ask somone to help you.

By the way Mike what phone do you have if its a Nokia I have 2 kits available cheap but both VW premiums units, they work best with Nokia

No I don't Darren.

I used to supply a couple of VW and Skoda dealers but they don't use so many of them.
