Im going to check the boot floor plan etc when i go to collect the car. I know its have a new fuel flap, as the paint job is terrible, bit i can get that resprayed as i am in the trade. So i will look dow the pannels to see if there is any ripples. I know this may sound really stupid, but please forgive me as i am very fussy. If you wouldnt mind looking at the pics of the car again and just see if anything is missing :ashamed:, i dont know why, but i just think something is missing, it mite just be me being stupid :rolleye:. So you just think the boot needs adjusting? If that is the case, then its all good, im going to call the dealer tomorrow and ask them to attend to it. One final question, the standard GTI exhaust, is it supposed to be flush with bumper, as the car in questions exhaust is not. Also if the exhaust supposed to be up in the cut out in the lower exhaust, or is it supposed to hang slightly lower so that it is in line with the bottom of the lower section of bumper :ashamed:?

Hmm, you didnt mention the flap before did you ?, i personally might just walk away from this one

Why do you say that mate? What im going to do is talk to the dealership about the fuel cap and tailgate, do you think they will get these both attended to? At the moment, they are going to repair all 4 wheels, service, cambelt, MOT, dropped the price, going to look at the rattle from the dash, going to look at an air vent where the trim is slightly coming away, also going to look at the clutch pedal. The car is going to be valeted and polished, as there are a few scratches on the roof etc. Am i asking too much here? Also do you know about the exhaust mate and have you had a chance to take a look at the pics of the car to see if there is anything missing?

Not at all, get all you can from them, its hard for me sat here so far away from the car telling you what to do, i would really go to town and chech the whole car out, check the door shuts, as resprays tend to be blended in these areas, just do the works on it

The fuel flaps on most of our cars are no match to the bodywork. They are plastic and just get fitted from the parts bin as the car goes around the factory.

I got my car new and my flap colour match is terrible.  :sad1:  :happy2:

My fuel cap is a totally different texture in the sunlight. Looks hazy compared to the other paint work.   :happy2:

Thankyou for the feedback guys, it is a great help :happy2:. Im really looking forward to picking up the car on saturday and to drive a nice decent car for once. So i will call them tomorrow and tell them that i want the boot adjusted at it does not line up correctly on the n/s. Also i am going to mention to them about the finish on the fuel cap and ask them to attend to this. They are also doing a cambelt, as it is due in may, then are doing a service, MOT, brake fluid change, ref furb of all 4 wheels (big thing for me) and get the car mopped, as it has some scrathes on it. If all this is completed and attended to, to my standards, then i will be really happy with the car.

Bl@@dy iPhone.
Can't look cos it runs in flash.
Wouldn't worry get dealer to sort it before delivery.
VW can't sell cars without FVWSH & clean HPI.

Is that true out of curiosity?

I don't think the full vw service history part is, well it definitely isn't with Audi. Yep the 30 day exchange is definitely only for fault related issues. http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/used/exchange-policy

Yep. Just another way to get you to get your car serviced by them. Cars without FVWSH just go to another part of the dealer franchise.
Most of this info is in the used car sales literature.

Enjoyed the last five years of ownership of Mk5 & 6 GTIs.
Plus an excellent forum for knowledge and new ways to deplete the bank account.
Thank You Everyone.

I don't think the full VWSH is true.  My fiancee's polo didn't have a full VAG history.

They maybe should, but we all know what  stealers are like.   :stupid:

I wouldn't take it as a given anyway.

I have spoken to the dealer today and informed them of what is required. They said ok. I have spoken the guys at work who said that the tailgate is adjustable, these isnt a lot of movement, but is can be adjusted.
