@Dogma and @colesey

I was not referring to enthusiast examples, as its rare to find one with that low mileage as they tend to of been driven more then just stared at after 11 years of being out., but ok you do only short trips which yes would be less wear on the underside,but the engines if driven on short journeys alot, will be proberly be in a worse state with Carbon issues if yours hasn’t been fixed already?

I am one of the few original owners since these were out so was just generalising .
All I’m saying is when people say it’s got high mileage,it shouldn’t be ruled out... and I agree totally each car should be on its own merits, oh and I’m no snob thanks very much  :fighting:

It didn’t really come across like that to be fair it just sounded like you was bashing low mileage cars.

No worries have fun and enjoy.

5 doors are for wimps who think they will use the rear doors, but never do, and 5 door MK5s look utterly sh1te and boring.

Odd statement? I bought a 5 door manual ed30 for the practicality(my gf family are getting on a bit and we pick them up and take them out in it) and the less desirable fact of theft in my locale.
I like the fact I am under the radar, have 300/300, 5 doors and can open the car up if and when I want without too much attention from either side of the law.
Sometimes 'boring' can catch people out.

Five door day man here. So easy to fit my boxes of worthers originals on the back seats and my spare foot allows me to tap it along to Vera Lynn's greatest hits.

That’s funny I bought my five door for Similar reasons. Try getting your grandparents out of the back seat of a Corrado is nightmare lol.

I could not back to a 3 door. I do not miss getting people or things on the back seats while clambering over the front seats! I don't really get the idea that a 3 door is sporty, to me it just comes across as impractical. But hey, that's why we have options!

VW have now pretty much given up on making 3 door Golfs in any case.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.  :smiley: I'd rather a 3 door but... 5 door is better.

Exactly. All Gti’s share the same DNA whether they are k03 / k04 / 3 door / 5 door / manual / Dsg etc.

I think both look good. Three door for tracking and five door for Socialising.

Or

Three door for the young and five door for the old lol.
