Anyone have issues with filling their fuel tanks to the brim?
bacillus:
I normally fill my tank to the brim but have been reading that this can lead to problems with the charcoal cannister and N80 evaporative emmission cannister purge regulator valve.
Anyone have any more definitive info on this?
stealthwolf:
Dunno but when I joined up on a forum for my previous car, they all recommended not filling to the brum.
I now stop at the second click rather than the first, third or fourth.
SteveP:
I have brimmed mine ever since I got it with no issues (so far 24K).
If I don't I wouldn't have enough range to get all the way back home from work on the second trip to the only garage around me that sells 99 octane.
Top Cat:
I was led to believe if you brim it make sure you dont stop for quite a while or the expansion will just release it to mother earth.
Sorry non of this is help ing your original question Ballicus. :ashamed:
WhiteGTI:
I brim it every time and wasn't aware of such issues
I have also brimmed it, and then driven 1 mile home and turned the engine off many times, and the car has been fine.
Hope no one has any issues!
