Does anyone find the car's more responsive when there's more fuel on board?

I've driven the car the petrol station and it's 'normal', park up, fill up and drive normally but it feels more powerful?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Peugeut only advise to brim it no more than twice as this will coz problems. They dont say why  So I have kept it to that.
some cars you can vent the tank, this is popular with high mile drivers as you can get more in the tank.
Venting is where you push the wee button inside the fuel kneck and it releases  the trapped fumes allowing extra fuel to be taken onboard.

Petrol degrades over time lowering its octane level so if you were a low milage user then there may be a bit of fact in your observation.
Without traction power is nothing!

Car's a daily driver. For some reason, I've just noticed that whenever I refuel, it's always before a long journey (ie motorway, more than one hour's driving) and that the rest of the fuel is then used for daily driving. By the time I need to go on another long trip, it's time to refuel!

Never heard of this problem, and yes I always brim it until the second click!  :happy2:

....You're already The Rim King and now you want to be The Brim King

I only fill mine when I'm under a quarter-tank full and do so according to a quantity - Usually just over 30 litres, which maximises my V-Power points as they view 30 litres+ as an average full tank and award bonus points. I seem to get about 3 free tankfuls of V-Power per year - Every bit helps.

Indeedi !   I recommend the Shell Mastercard too - triple points at Shell garages (giving 3% cashback)

+ the V-Power card points as well  :happy2:

I have brimmed mine a couple of times only to come back and find about a litre of fuel dumped on the floor after paying ... I now don't brim it !
