99 RON fuel in France?
« on: July 20, 2019, 09:45:56 am »
Usually use Tesco Momentum or Shell v power.
Can you get 99 rated fuel over there and if not would using 98 grade be ok?
Mapped engine.
Cheers

No 99 in France and you’ll be fine with 98 or 97.

Watch the speed limits, they are dead keen over there.

Been told no 99RON in France only 98. Hopefully there’s a Shell before Dover to fill up one last time before getting on the ferry.

When are you going? I’m driving with family to Disneyland on Monday morning. Going through Dover-Calais-Paris

Yep, a mate got caught in June doing 90 mph, can't remember how much the fine is.

The Shell at J11 M20 is £££ . Tesco's at J12  for momentum or Whitfield Dover.

It will run fine on 95. It won’t produce the best power but there isn’t problem running 95.

I very occasionally put 95 in mine, no issues.

It depends if R-Tech added timing specifically for 99 RON, but you can switch maps with their software anyway, so knock it down to a less boost mode, or stock if in doubt  :happy2:

I used 95 ron on my Revo map and I haven't blown the motor yet

I don't think you can adjust the map on a dsg unless I'm mistaken?
