Manual Windows?
« on: July 26, 2019, 10:52:51 am »
Hi, did any GTIs come with manual windows?

I'm trying to add some lightness to my car and was thinking changing from electric to manual windows rather than going all out and removing the window mechanisms and swapping glass for lexan.

I dont think any mk5 came with manual front windows.... could be wrong of course. The weight your save from removing the motors isnt that much to be honest.

Yep.  Doing a big schitt will lose about the same weight as a couple of window motors.

I know but I've the car for 18 months now and that is a really long time for me. I need to keep messing with it to keep me interested.

Well I wouldn't mess with the basic functions personally.  Add more power and handling rather than removing useful items
