Exhaust and bodyshop advise South Wales
« on: August 14, 2019, 09:23:14 pm »
Hello,

Advise please:

I’ve bought an r32 rear bumper which I think is genuine OEM but can anyone tell me if it is from the photos please? Also can you spot any fittings, trims etc missing which I’d need to fit it properly? Should the number plate be stuck on or screwed as standard?

May also need advise on fitting and cheapest option for converting the exhaust but I’ll do a search first.

Exhaust advice please and r32 bumper vw fittings part numbers

Update:
I’ve compared the bumper to a friends and I think it’s a OEM one.

Can anyone tell me the part numbers for the fixtures and fittings needed to secure the bumper and wheel arch trims to the car please? As I’ve spent £160 on a bumper I think a few more pounds to replace rusty screws seems sensible to make sure it’s nice and secure.

Currently looking at exhaust options now. The BCS gets the best reviews but from what I can gather from the website I think just the back box and tail pipes are £600. But I’ve seen some post that they only paid £200?? Also a long drive from South Wales to get there. The Miltek option seems popular but is also around £600 for the resonated version. The best value option I’ve found so far is a custom made back box by independent exhaust specialists welsh coast customs (Powerflow) at £430 all in. This appeals because my golf sits lower on VWR springs/shocks so I’d hope they could make a thinner back box compared to the miltek option which sits quite low. In fact, looking at my mates golf last night it’s the 3” pipe going into the box which sits lowest.

I’d appreciate any feedback anyone has on independent exhaust specialists in South Wales or generally on having gone for a custom R32 exhaust. I’m not after any more performance as I’m happy with my Revo stage 1, it’s just the r32 rear end aesthetics I’m after.

Cheers.

Update:

Vw have quoted £38.95 for the LH and RH support brackets plus all the fixtures and fittings to hold it on including bumper and wheel arch trims. Might already have some of these but £38 seems like piece of mind to keep a £160+ bumper in place.

Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop in South Wales?

Also any recommendations for exhaust specialist in South Wales? I’m leaning towards a custom made over a miltek because currently it’s £100 cheaper. I’ve seen some post that they had a custom exhaust for £250, can anyone share a link to where they paid said much?
