Golf gt tdi 140 engine issues
« on: September 05, 2019, 07:54:08 am »
Hi folks, been having a bit of an issue with my golf, had two mechanics say they have never seen a diesel drive like this before and are struggling to pinpoint an issue, basically what is happening is when the Rev counter hits 2000rpm the car starts juddering feeling like it’s going to stall and the Rev counter starts increasing but no extra power is delivered, car has been mapped so last mechanic said everything mechanically seems sound so suggested an ecu or map issue, got the base map back on by the tuner and he suggested it was a boost issue and it wasn’t meeting the target boost. Just wondered if anyone had a similar problem or could shed some light on it, thinking a second hand ecu coded to my car could be the less expensive option to try next. No lights on the dash showing and the last mechanic said the only error code it was throwing out was once for a glow plug(which he didn’t think was the issue)

Coil pack on a TDI..... I'd change mechanic quickly

Not sure where you are, but I'd recommend Droitwich Diesels, if you're near the midlands.
What they don't know, isn't worth knowing!

The current garage it’s in has vcds I believe as it’s a be specialist, I spoke to him today and since the map has been put back to base he says it’s started to misfire on idle and he is seeing injector one is causing an issue! I would have thought that would have thrown an error code or atleast engine management light tho??
