Anyone replaced their Headlamp Lense before??

Evening guys.
Has anyone tried replacing their headlamp lenses on the mk5 xenon lamps before?
As most of these now are getting old and starting to heat crack on the insides, there seems to be replacement lenses available online but unsure whether they fit before smashing the old lense off to find they don’t.
New Oem xenon lamp units are nearly £500 each so hense why this sounds appealing.

Hi Steve.... I would imagine that youd have to remove the clear front part of the headlight to do so.

You can take the whole assembly for the projector lens out the back. From what I remember it is metal tabs holding the lens into place

I got 2 genuine ones for
less than £500 from a certain main dealer trade supplier 🤔🤣
