HPFP fitted.
« on: February 26, 2010, 07:31:36 am »
Had a trip to PSI Tuning yesterday, had the Autotech internals fitted. Cost me 41quid which I think is a bargain, not worth getting dirty for that price IMO. Anyway i'd already bought the stage3 map from bf, sat in the car park and uploaded it before setting off home :ashamed:

Traffic was horrendous on the m6 but still the difference is very noticeable, more so than when I went stage 2... pulls from no revs and keeps going without dropping off! I'm only running a carbonio at the mo so maybe more to be had if/when I buy an intake. Couldn't be happier with it so for all those on the group buy get em fitted :driver:

Tell me about it, I can't wait to get back there, it's just sooo far away... Should have my Pro race 1.2s on Monday also  :jumpmove:

I just hope they are a worthwhile mod too!

Had my HPFP fitted last night by OTTIS (who had fitted his own on saturday). It took us around 3 hrs from start to finish, the most time-consuming part being the intensive cleaning of every tiny component. I also took the opportunity (whilst the engine cover was off!!) to change my plugs to some Denso Iridium boys. So after numerous checks (cam follower was fine), a dozen or so cups of coffee and several ciggies...we took the car a run and although i'm "only" running an Oettinger Stage 1 map, the difference was very noticeable. The car now pulls a lot harder from low down and just seems to KEEP pulling right the way through rev range. It just feels more "willing" to push on...if that makes sense!! So overall i'm extremely pleased with the Autotech HPFP and would strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to tap deeper into their Ed30's potential. :happy2:

Pump out, cleaned, Autotech internals fitted and ready to go....just time for another coffee and cig...!! :rolleye:

Mine's done - I got the phone call today after Mike at Votex had been out doing some logging to set the REVO st2+ just right.... the conversation went along the lines of this:

"Mike, your car is done. It's absolutely stupid. I didn't think it had that much more to give"

Also did me a DSG service (I do it every 20k), new rear brakes and RBF600 refreshed, rebuilt the fronts (I'm anal and have this done frequently), fitted some Oettinger turbo pipework I'd forgot I had and given it their extra special once over before I'm at Rockingham next Saturday.

I've been out with my friends helping with 'project Borat race car', so I won't have chance to see for myself what it's like until tomorrow.
Sideways yo!

Picked mine up and took it for a run, still adapting at the minute but it feels way stronger through the midrange.

I'm also much happier now I know I've eliminated a weak link, rather than map around it.
Sideways yo!
