Hey guys,
New to this forum, so sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I have a MKV Jetta and recently I've noticed that when somewhat hard turning at low speeds (like turning left out of a junction etc.), there is a groaning noise.
The noise is essentially identical to the one found in this video:
As far as I can tell, it seems like the noise goes away whenever I put in the clutch, but I haven't been able to fully test that to say it's for definite.
The video above was found in a forum wherein the OP said that it was caused by water contamination in the gearbox oil and was rectified by flushing and filling the oil a few times. Could this be the likely culprit? I'd be afraid to flush the gearbox oil, however, as I have heard of problems arising when changing the gearbox oil.
Any help would be great, thanks!
