Indicator light

I’ve got a golf mk5 gti and I’ve been using the indicators as Drls. So basically the left side indicator has stopped working I have even changed the bulb but it seems the housing has melted, does anyone know if I could fix this Or would I have to buy a new headlight unit. Thanks
