Was driving in this morning are realised my car doesn't look 13 years old on the inside.

I think it's only the black plastic low level trim on the bodywork that makes the outside look dated (those that have the ED30 painted trim look more modern, IMO.......but I've noticed even that plasticity trim  is re-appearing on some of the newer cars.....

Yes, nice clocks...

Manufacturers keep revising to get you to buy the latest version - although of course there are the  technological advancements too.  :driver:

@ljc19630 They are 2016 Tiguan Premium 3D clocks, fitted and coded for me by someone cleverer than I.

Ah nice! I see the RPM only goes to 6k and speedo to 160mph. Being a K04 converted car and at STG2+ mine reve's to well over 7k and i've already suppased 160mph on the clocks, but i REALLY like these and may look into getting a set :jumpmove:

apart from the obvious, what other features do you get with these clocks that the standard GTi clocks dont have? I have found a place that can supply and fit, hence looking to go for this?

You can get clocks from the Scirocco that go to 8k and 180mph with the same 3d Colour display

Yeah, these are the diesel version, but petrol ones are available as RobC says.

What else do they do... I can't remember what the original ones don't do, but off the top of my head:
Large MPH digital display
Shows navigation info in the MFD, with a bar that shrinks as you approach the junction
Gallons until empty
Compass
Shows the speed the cruise control is set to

+Most stuff the original can do, just looks prettier. :)

Looks great  :happy2:

The main reason I love the MK5 so much is it's at my modern limit.  I prefer older, analogue cars and the MK5 is not so old it looks hideously dated and aside from the wings, neither does it rust like an anchor.  It's also not chock full of complex and expensive gadgets that are tricky to diagnose and repair.

The MK5 has the right level of easy and cost effective home maintenance, and is also a platform to modernise with MK6/7 parts if you so wish.   It's why it's my favourite GTI by a country mile!

And lastly, more crucially for me, it responds to engine and chassis mods extremely well without destroying it's well behaved daily manners.

Why have you gone for Diesel clocks?

Maybe because it IS a diesel TDI 4motion
(same as mine, same clocks too)
