I couldn't drive it  I wasn't well salesman took us out good drive dsg excellent not as quick as my MK5 albeit re-mapped  very responsive in sport mode digi dash has so many modes its silly. The car is mint. Loads of extras, heated seats etc,. Cheaper tax than Mk5  cheaper ins. so man safety aids But once the warranty expires it will be up to Nuneaton to R Tech

Seen vid from dealer of 230 GTI test drive Sunday few bones to pick over p/ex but looks promising

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of p/x prices are VW dealerships offering on a 70k mk5? Would be interested to know what to expect if I ever did fancy a change...

Nice  :happy2:  The MK7 is definitely an upgrade over the MK5 in terms of cabin quality and toys!

I know what you mean about the Grey TCR. It looks like primer.  I'm not sure when that became trendy.

The Mk7 doesn't feel as solid as my Mk5 I suppose that's down to weight saving got to wait at least another 10 days before I pick it up

The only thing I didn't like about the MK7s I drove was the vague steering compared to the MK5, but the fit and finish inside was a lot better than my MK5.  Its all very familiar inside though.  During my test drives, I was more focussed on scanning the interior to see what bits would fit a MK5

10 days is a long time to wait for a new toy! Why the long delay?  My mate bought a GTD last year and after signing the paperwork, it was ready to drive off the next day.

I have to wait for some funds to clear. When I ordered my new S4 Bi Turbo 1998 I waited 10 months from order to delivery

Ah OK.  Ouch.  Some Supercar buyers have to wait years for their order!  Sod that.  I'm not that patient. I'd rather buy a used one and enjoy it sooner.

picked up new car this morning, first immpressions on drive home 30mls very smooth and quiet in comfort mode. easy to go over 70mph without realising. Lots of good stuff from dealer chrome VW key ring, Autoglym  products in a nice holdall, VW touch up paint and laquer. large VW umberella. Salesman sorted taxing it and cancelling old tax. Set up smart phone.  Really good handover. Got 30 day exchange [he has a clubsport in] told him jokingly not to sell it]Ruby black beautiful colour. Best Xmas present ever.

Getting more impressed everytime I drive it Once the warranty is up a trip to R -Tech is on the cards got a Ramair panel filter coming today. Put some decent rubber mats in yesterday. Everyone thinks the Ruby Black is beautiful
