Its upto you but failure to declare even the smallest thing and they could declare your policy invalid, that said most of the items they wouldn't notice

The only thing that's ever increased my premium is more power - all the extras made no difference.

list everything.
Sideways yo!

jesus didnt expect that, elephant usually charge about £50 an item aswell................. Gulp !

surely the red gti badges, climatronic surrounds ect wouldnt need to be declared ?, tbh, IMO if im declaring stick on badges i should tell them about my tax disc holder and airfreshner

I personally wouldn't bother about small cosmetic things like seat lever inserts, climatronic rings and thr like but anything more substantial like splitters etc I would.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I have everything declared, down to the RS4 fuel limiter valve...and that looks identical to the standard one and NO-ONE would ever even think of looking at that, let alone an insurance assessor.
Golf R gone.

how will you feel if you don't declare some of your mods & if the unfortunate should happen and that some one prangs your car.The insurance guy says we have cancelled your insurance because of your mods you haven't declared.....

As nearly everyone has already said in this thread: DECLARE EVERYTHING!

I even have my spare set of Monza rims on the list so it doesn't matter which are on the car. Declaring everything is particularly important if you have a policy which replaces like-for-like. No-one likes giving money for things like insurance and road-tax but we don't have a choice so it's best to work positively with it, pay it and forget it and have peace of mind.
