Kufatec Wiring Adapter

I received my Halogen to Xenon wiring adapters in the post this week but I have a small query - what is the bare exposed wire for halfway through the loom  :ashamed: :ashamed:

To wire up the high beam xenons to the electric module under the steering wheel I believe.  :happy2:

That is the feed for the Xenon shutters.  If you want xenon main beams, you will need to run a wire to the Cent Conv Module , and join it to these on each light.

The correct term is to make the xenons, bi-xenon,  put a couple of repair wires on the end and one goes to A5 and the other to D6.

I think i must have done this a few times now.

If you sit in the car and take the small cubby out the one to your right knee...its there just to the side of the fuse box.

Darren, Have you ever measured the Voltage at D6/A5 with mainbeam selected?

I did, and got about 0.6V, the shutters work fine though with the engine running, with the ignition on and engine not running, they work ok, if a little slow to react.

Just interested to hear if you had ever seen this.

How easy is it to run a repair wire from the loom to the control unit?!?!?

Also, is it advisable to get the repair wire from VW (if so what part no.) and if not what sort of wire is best??

The repair wire is listed above in the diagram - 000 979 025.  It is a small (12") long wire with the correct terminal that is required at the Cent Con Module on each end.

You will have to run a wire from behind each headlight (spliced to the extra wire at the adaptor), through the bulkhead behind the battery, and behind the dash to the CCM, then splice the wires to the repair wire cut in two.

I removed the plugs from the CCM and this will allow you to push the new terminals into the correct hole in the plug, refit the plugs and all is good.

Some coding to tell the car it now has Bi-Xenons fitted, and ll should be good.
