Fitting r32 Brake MC
bazmk5:
Has anyone upgraded to the 23.81mm brake MC?
I recently fitted R32 front and rear brakes and im having more travel in the brake pedal. I suspect its the smaller 22mm MC to blame for this and Im considering upgrading to the 23.81mm.
Has anyone done this? is there much involved?
colesey:
Not sure what year your car is however mine (07 chassis registered in Aug 06) already has the larger MC fitted. Have a look to see if it has 23 stamped on it. Is however inevitable that you will get more pedal travel having fitted calipers with larger pistons all round.

I would suggest re-bleeding the brakes first. When I upgraded to r32 fronts I didnt notice any difference apart from much better braking
pudding:
As above, probably a bit of air on the system. When properly bled, the first cm of pedal travel is a touch softer than the standard brakes but otherwise should feel a lot stronger.

Did you get this sorted @bazmk5 ?
I replaced mine with R32 rears and Mk7 Golf R fronts on a 22mm MC (I'm a TDI) and after a few bleeds the brake feel was OEM but with extra Gs :)
So as @Pudding said, it's unlikely the MC is to blame.
