I think only the TTRS/RS3 got a substantially bigger MC (much bigger calipers) at 25.something mm.  Even MK7s still use the same 23mm size as found in the ED30/late GTI, so regular S3/7R/R32 sized brakes shouldn't have a squidgy pedal.
