ok update...

Spoken to Superchips this just now, they have come up with a solution for me .Very helpful chap and was very happy to help.

For his advice, he's charged me £50 and says it will smoothen out the idleing issue for me with an extra bit on top (whatever that means)

Oh dear god, what have i done  :ashamed:

Come on Steve, let's know what the result is

Well after finding the car now needs a fuel pump and intake!!.

It certainly spools up alot smoother, but from 4000 rpm, boot down, had a feeling that its flat and not as crisp as i'd hoped.

Idleing issue still was present as well :sad1:, although remembering that my dealership removed my green cotton filter and shoved a Stock Air filter in yesturday, quickly came home, took out the new Oem element and put the green cotton unit back in and shes now as smooth as she was before the Exhaust installation.

So in summary, Stage 2 map is better suited then stage 1 for smoothness with the full milltek. As long as your not using the oem air filter. :ashamed:

Stage 1 is very good without an aftermarket exhaust system.

Peak Bum power between stage 1 to 2 doesnt feel much different tbh, but torque band seems to be alot more eager with 2.

Although the Acid test is when the wife drives it tonight home on the motorway. I wonder if she'll notice :ashamed:

Idle issue sorted. Mission acomplished.

Soooo are you gonna go for an intake and hpfp? There's a GB on the former though a Gb on thr latter recently expired.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

my experiance at stage 2 is pretty much the same as yours phil.  :happy2: oh and she wont have a clue! my misses drove my car the other day at stage 2+ and because she keeps it in drive and never gets past 2k RPM she should never know! although i was kinda thinking the whole time please dont boot it or she will hear the intake and start asking questions!!  :rolleye:
