What made you leave N.Zealand? Thought that was a fantastic place to live
A few reasons:
- I can make a lot more money in the UK.
- NZ is very far away from everywhere else. Any trip to anywhere in the world involves a 12 hour flight to either Los Angeles, Hong Kong or Singapore, and then further travel from there. For example, NZ to London involves 24 full hours on a plane (2 x 12 hr flights), plus the layover time. England, on the other hand, is close to everything; most places I would want to go are max. a few hours away (e.g. the States).
- I like city life, and NZ is a bit rural for my like.
- London has access to every concert (e.g. Michael Jackson's final concert tour was going to be in London), every show, every trade event (e.g. a very good car show), incredible museums, galleries. And London is a beautiful, clean and well organised city, in spite of what a lot of people say.
Of course there are downsides, but overall I've been very happy with my decision.
