Be careful
« on: February 02, 2020, 01:36:05 pm »
Saw this in another site
just wanted to warn PH'ers about a scammer THOMAS/TOM DONCASTER doing the rounds on various car forums (mainly VW group) via the 'parts wanted' boards, he gets in touch via PM proporting to have exactly the item you are looking for.

Almost 5 months ago I posted in the wanted section on Briskoda for a set of alloys. TOM DONCASTER PM’d and we agreed a deal. He didn’t use PayPal (know we know why) and after some assurances (reference & a copy of his passport) I believed he was genuine and sent cash by bank transfer.

The wheels never existed and despite continued promises, the most recent last week, the lying scrote still owes me £300. He's turned over a number of people on Briskoda alone, he gets banned and then reappears under different guise.

I don’t want anyone else to be scammed by this lowlife, who resides in Fort William.

If he sends you any PM's on any

if you have bank details and proof of other scams then report to police.

This should be reported to Action Fraud, once you have submitted the information they will report it on to the police.

That’s pretty sh*tty behaviour, probable sleeps very well on a bed of imaginary alloys.

Got to ask, what evidence corroborates that he lives in Fort William?

Could just be a made up address in a suitably awkward (Fort William is a PITA to get to, and I’m in the same country) Highlands and Islands location to claim more postage or a sweetener “I’ll throw in postage...”

Wonder what they would say if you offer to pick up? Email saying “I’m in the car - on my way”
