key fob

Just got MK7 gti 17 plate when inserting key display says renew fob battery which I did  but it still displays fit new batt. Any ideas

Sorted new batteries rubbish got one locally o.k now

Wakkk:
I got this, make sure the circuit is seated in the key properly and the battery has a proper connection. I’ve been to VW 3 times in 6 months to get battery replaced and it ended up being a loose connection to the battery.
