Mk5 gti wheel spacer question

Hi I have researched a lot of sites and not got a consistent answer on spacer width!
I have a mk5 gti 08 on h&r lowering springs on a 30mm drop so wheel is just above arch

I'm looking at forge wheel spacers of awesome gti can get 11mm for front and 16mm on rear does this sound about right without rubbing? I've read 10mm front and 15mm rear but them sizes are not available on awesome with forge spacers

I've also read that no more than 10mm all round so now doubting the 11 and 16mm spacers!!

Can any 1 how has gone down this road point me in the right direction even some pics aswell ig u have any handy

Max i would suggest on the front would be 12mm... I would just go for 10mm all-round as it will give you a nice subtle look without looking daft

  Uhhh, wheel width plus offset, and tire size matter. Asking for which spacer without providing wheel width and offset, or tire size may result in responses that will mislead you.

I ran 8mm spacers with the 18" oem wheels(18x7.5 @ 50'ish ET) and it didn't rub. When I switched wheels to 18x8 @ 45 ET, it rubbed under hard cornering...while always running 225/40-18 rubber.
For height reference; this all was when it was suited with Eibach Sportline height but with the new 18x8 wheels, a rear H&R ARB, and no spacers ↓


Because there was no rubbing without the spacers, I was able to drop it even more;


With a straight edge and some measuring...you can figure out how much more you can poke the wheels out. Same process can be used if and when you ever decide to swap the wheels to a different width and offset or tire width...but by using your math skills.

Sorry mate I agree should of said my tyre size, I'm running 225/40/18 on eom monza 2 alloys, I've got for 11mm all round as did a bit of measuring and think it should be safe, was going to go 15 or 16 on back but realised under the back arch about an inch up it sticks out more so this would probs of been close to rubbing

Remember, the rear arch liners are a soft, sort of felt like, liner. They can wear through quite easily if contact is made. If this is no concern, then it's not a problem.
