plastics care
« on: March 04, 2010, 10:20:03 pm »
i currently use simoniz back to black aerosol spray to treat the grill, skirts etc. It does a good job and has a nice sheen, but doesnt last all to well, especially if the weather is rubbish, which is all the time lately  :fighting:
What do you fellas use?

on the mk2 i use boiled linseed oil. lasts months and gives a nice matt shine to the plastics. on the mk5 i use autoglym bumper care. seems to do the job well for me :)

I always found the creams/gels are better than the sh1tty aerosoles as you can be more precise and the spray then doesn't end up all over your paintwork!!

They last longer too!  :happy2:

Autosmart trim ultra for really long lasting results, bit messy though and stinks. The aerosol equivelant is good though, think its smart trim. lasts pretty well for a spray can and smells like a sweet shop lol.
Autoglym bumper car isnt cheap but lasts well also  :happy2:

I've always used the Auto Glym bumper care. Does a good job and lasts well enough!

I use AS Trim Ultra works great on the mini's plastic trim, lasts better than water based products and you only need a tiny amount I used about 15ml for all that trim. Truckie's right it is a strong linseed smell. AG bumper care is good to although works for some but not others.
