« on: March 01, 2020, 07:35:30 pm »

Driving yesterday morning went through bit of water down a flooded lane not really deep, after that putting my foot down sounded like bricks flying round the wheel arch thought nothing of it... got on motorway got to 70 and done it again so backed off to 60.. as i come off motorway its like i was struggling to get gears?

Left car for a hour at friends house came back out and gears were fine, as i got back on motorway the noise happend again when i got to high speed...

Been out toxay and same again but at 50-60mph on motorway so backed off again like somethings flying round wheel arch a rattle nocking kind of noise

Had a look last night and found the problem, brake pad on the inner side has shattered to bits leaving just the metal part left  new ones on on the way.. least know now and makes sense of something flicking round inside wheel arch

Ah ha good man, at least you found the issue and its only the cost of pads to fix :happy2:
I think its quite common for GTIs to have rear caliper/disc/pad issues and i know a few that have had calipers seize too!!!!

Glad its sorted bud
