Cat Back System
« on: March 12, 2020, 01:44:16 pm »
Im looking at cat back systems and dont really want anything loud and was all set to pull the trigger on a Milltek but since doing some research it seems they are not as well thought of as id expected.
I stumbled across the powerflow systems which look very well made and have a good warranty, so maybe these are now an option.
Im fitting purely for longevity and to fill the rear bumper cut out a little better.
How are people getting on with their powerflow systems?
do they require the original system to be cut in any way to fit?
Thanks in advance.

If you could possibly stretch a little bit more money I’d go with a BCS system proper quality made in the uk. Also different options from the prestige/sports/wrc

As above would not pass a BCS system, there will be a system there too suit your sound requirement.
Quality and customer service is second to none, and the fact the company run a mk5 themselves you know you are in the right place.
Mine has been faultless since 2015.

Bear in mind the majority of aftermarket exhausts don't use the same construction method, materials or pipe diameter as OEM, so the sound levels will always generally be louder.

If you get the quiet spec option, if available, it should be relatively well mannered.

When mine finally lets go (it's annoyingly still hole free after 13 years, amazing!) I'll be importing a Techtonics Tuning or Magnaflow system over from the states.  I would get another OEM one but the price is too stupid to even consider it.

The Magnaflow uk suppliers currently have this on offer which is a very good price but i would guess its a bit louder than most systems.

seems they list it as a moderate sound.
