Checking the general health of the car

I'm driving the car this way since more that 1yr ago when I've installed the k04 setup. I've even been to Nurburgring with this setup. I know something about EGT being lower than 900 degrees but can't remember if it was median exhaust temp or catalytic converter temp as they can be logged separately !

around 900 is the accepted constant max temp but non prolonged times above that temp it isnt a problem.

The issues seem to centre around.

1. Where and how the temp is measured is very important. some figures mean nothing, others critical
2. VCDS logging isnt reliable either (apparantly)
3. when you go mapped the tuners can and do alter the temp values / hardware protection mapping, so what you think you are seeing generally cant be relied upon.

So in essence.

1. you could have an issue that causing too high EGT's
or
2. logging makes it look like you have an issue but in reality you dont.

REVO themselves should clarify the block to use and what numbers are good/bad

Talked to REVO dealer and he said the logs look fine and there's nothing to worry about. He said the software was made in such a way that if the EGTs were too big, the software would automatically lower boost or close the throttle body to protect the engine !

thats the controversial hardware protection mapping.
I'd want confirmation from REVO HQ (not a dealer) that 999 is ok (which is the max value, so it could be any value above that....) for your stage.

another chap asked a similar question over on seat cupra - in short revo claim the sensor over-reads when compard to a probe to the tune of 80-100 degrees - but if your pinned at 999 like yourself then you need to run a lower fuel setting (more fuel) and more timing advance
