Newbie with a temperamental MKV

Had the car a couple of weeks, however the lack of cruise and auto lights annoyed me so I set about changing them. The CC install I followed the very helpful volkswizard guide on YouTube and the coding was accepted on the Steering and Engine modules but to no avail... CC not working.

The Chinese light switch also throws up a code.

Up to now I've changed the PCV valve and Diverter Valve at the weekend and I'm waiting on a set of four coil packs and spark plugs

I'm at a loss what the error codes are, and what's needed to fix them. Can anyone help?

Address 19 shows the coding incorrect. Although the coding appeared to be accepted when you dd it, it was likely not correct. I am no coding expert so, if you didn't copy and save the original coding...I believe VCDS has a reset or debug coding if there's not another way to do so. You could try the VCDS forum on Ross-Tech's site.

@p4cks fault code P0568 is usually the cruise control switch on stalk.

AUTO HAVC 

There’s a sensor in the middle of dashboard which looks like a speaker cover remove it and have look to see if it’s plugged in. If it is then you’ve possibly got a faulty sensor. I’m sure you can do an output test on it with you vcds.

19 CAN GATEWAY.

Fault code is related to your radio In the installation list you will need to put a tick in one of the boxes both radio & satellite Navigation need ticking. Clear fault codes.

Post your VCDS output on the Ross Tech website. not only will you get the makers of the software telling you what the codes mean but sometimes people who had resolved those same codes.

Thanks for this. The HVAC one makes sense as I replaced the mesh grille with the coin tray to stop the rattling and there was nothing to plug that plug into! Wonder how I'll fix the error message?

The CAN-BUS one is sorted now, so thank you also for that.


The light switch is still an issue so hopefully the seller will send me another one out and it'll be fixed.

Front speaker I'm not that arsed about.

I've also now got a P0234 which points to a duff Boost Control Valve (N75) so I've ordered one of those. Strangely enough this error code is often thrown up on remapped cars and I must say that this GTI is quicker than the other two I've had by some margin so either both of those were f*cked, or this one has had some work done to it. Time will tell I suppose.

Cruise control stalk was retrofitted by me, however I didn't check for the wire that some cars have and some don't so I'll have to take it all apart at the weekend to check if it's there and if not, buy and fit a new wire. What a f*ck on!
