What year is the car and how many miles?
Ask to see the old cam follower just to see what condition it was in.
It's a 2006 with 104k,
Initial findings are the cam follower had a little wear, but nothing to be worried about.
The oil pick up was not great, but the mechanic said that I was lucky, a lot of the fine mesh on the pick up was clogged with hard carbon, the sump also had evidence of carbon build up.
He blames the long life service intervals.
I am glad that I had these checked.
TPS sent wrong items, so all is not done yet, the thermostat still needs done, he had difficulties in removing one of the bolts on the thermostat, so he said he had to remove the inlet manifold, which is why I then asked him to walnut blast the inlet manifold while it was off.
