Kennys GTi
« on: March 10, 2010, 01:07:55 am »
I thought I'd start a thread on the progress I've made so far with my Golf.....................enjoy

I bought the car in July 2008, it is a 2005 5dr Tornado Red GTi and came with a decent standard spec including:
DSG
Full leather interior
Heated front seats
Sat Nav
Highline computer
Centre arm rest with disc changer
Xenon headlights
Winter pack - Heated screen washers & Headlight washers
18" Monzas

Mods so far:
Colour coded side skirts
Front splitter colour coded red and gloss black
Rear valance colour coded red and gloss black
Lowered on AP coilovers
Audi A6 S-Line 19" alloys
Sat Nav ariel painted gloss black
ED30 gearstick and gaitor
ED30 handbrake cover
Mk6 headlight switch
Interior bulbs all replaced with white LEDs
Front upper and lower grills painted gloss black (GTi badge removed and grill smoothed)
Number plate holder removed and panel smoothed and painted gloss black
Shortened number plate relocated to lower grill
VW R-Line fog grills painted red and gloss black
LED front sidelights
LED rear number plate lights

As it was when I bought it

First thing done was to colour code the side skirts, lower front splitter and lower rear bumper

Edition 30 gear knob and handbrake cover

Next to go on were the S-Lines and the coilovers

Front upper and lower grills painted gloss black (GTi badge removed and grill smoothed) number plate holder removed and panel smoothed and painted gloss black. VW R-Line grills colour coded red and gloss black

Short number plate relocated to lower grill

Rear VW boot badge colour coded red

Interior lights replaced with white LED's
Before

After

Wow. Some awesome mods. Loving the painted fogs and rims. Out of curiosity why did you go for AP coilies?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

A few guys I'd spoken to had recommended them as I'd been looking for a set that were not going to make the ride too harsh and TBH I've not been dissapointed.

:congrats:

Been watching a few sets on ebay recently so you never know

I bought the LED's off of a seller on ebay called "gxxled" unfortunately the guy has not been selling anything for the last couple of months as I've been looking to get some more of the same LED's to do my footwell lights
