Golf gti mk5 security
« on: June 04, 2020, 03:02:45 pm »
Hi all. Just a quick question. Have a golf gti mk5 and wondering whether to get an additional immobiliser fitted or do you think the factory fitted one does the job?

I have a disklok on the steering wheel. It's Thatcham cat 3.

I'm much rather deter someone from attempting to nick the car rather than them get inside it only to find they can't start it.

Steering wheel locks are a pain to live with, take this Audi I spotted last December
The driver thought the same way, but decided visual deterrent was sufficient...

...left the key in the lock!

I wouldn't have one - these things don't come with brackets to hold them securely in a collision and where do you keep it in the car while you drive?

here you go, not cheap but they are Thatcham approved. They come in different sizes, the small ones fits the mk5 wheel.
