P3193 FAULT CODE
« on: June 09, 2020, 12:29:10 pm »
HI Guys

Lost power this morning on way to work, read the fault codes and I have (P3193 Intake Manifold Runner Control: Open Stop outside of Valid Range) that will not clear?

Had P0234 Boost Pressure Regulation Limit Exceeded (Cleared)
P0100 Mass Air Flow Sensor G70 No Signal. ( Cleared)

Only recently bought the car and its been running fine up until this morning. It has had the runner flap delete so would this cause the error P3193?

Any help much appreciated

You probably need a new runner flap(RF) motor. It could also be the sensor.
Can you locate the RF linkage arm and move it? After you move it it should return to it's default position.
If the motor and sensor are replaced, it will need new Basic-Setting/adaptation performed.
Sometimes, the ECU software must be updated when a runner flap motor is swapped. If you have VCDS/VAG-COM, and you swap the RF motor, you can do the adaptation. If this doesn't eliminate the code, you may need to check with a dealer-shop to update the ECU software.

Any time you have a fault/error code, you can enter the P-code in *search* to find out more about it.

Thanks for the Reply,

Question does the Runner flap also operate/use the Evap system, N40 valve etc? as this has been deleted/taken off my car?

Cheers

N40? You mean N80?
The runner flap doesn't operate/use the EVAP. They only close somewhat to assist in smooth idle.
The fuel fumes through the N80 enter into the intake manifold-post throttle body.
Does "this has been deleted/taken off my car" mean the runner flap?"

Runner flap delete is going to allow more air at idle and at low rpms when the flaps would not normally be open 100%. This is why it should be tuned for the delete.

Sorry yes mate the N80 valve, and Evap system has been removed?? Before I purchased the car.

Its had the runner flap delete and im not sure its been mapped yet, I think there are a lot of modifications that have been carried out after a Generic map so I think that will have to be my first aim and go from there.

Im used to all the Stage 2+ as had a few S3's but never got involved in N80 removals, Evap Delete, Runner flap delete etc,

Cheers for the reply and help much appreciated
