Vacuum pump
« on: March 11, 2021, 08:03:39 pm »
Evening all. I noticed last week the vacuum pump was leaking oil so ordered up the O ring kit. They arrived this morning and fitted this afternoon. Thinking back there was a fair bit of oil inside the pump. Is that normal? I assumed it would be pretty dry in there.

Yep. It draws oil in to lubricate the plastic vane. It flings it out back into the chain cover and back down to the sump harmlessly though.  It's enough oil to seep past worn O rings though. The O rings are a marginal fit at best.  Could do with being a bit thicker tbh.

I got the feeling they were a bit under speckled. Glad it's not just me.
